A man was arrested in connection with the fatal shooting of his 24-year-old brother in Wilson Borough, Northampton County, on Sunday, according to prosecutors.
Officials said Thuan Vo, 21, was charged with criminal homicide after being accused of shooting his brother in the neck inside a home on Birch Street.
At approximately 12:10 a.m. on Sunday, Sept. 20, police responded to a report of a gunshot victim. According to prosecutors, Vo told 911 dispatchers that he accidentally shot his brother.
When police arrived, they found the 24-year-old man suffering from a gunshot wound. He was taken to St. Luke’s Hospital Anderson Campus for treatment, where he died later that morning.
While at the scene, officers learned that Vo fired the shot that struck his brother. He was then arrested and charged with criminal homicide, prosecutors said.
Vo was denied bail, according to officials.
According to prosecutors, the charge includes intentionally killing another person as well as causing another person’s death through criminal recklessness.
