The Portland Fire (16-27) close out their WNBA season this evening at Moda Center against the Golden State Valkyries (31-11). The Valkyries are currently in second place in the WNBA, but they’re still in the hunt for the number one seed and home-court advantage throughout the playoffs. The Fire have been eliminated from the postseason, but a win tonight could negatively impact their draft lottery odds. Game time is 7:00 PM Pacific with coverage on Rose City SportsNet.
The Fire sit currently in 11th place. A win tonight (along with other results) could see the Fire finish as high a ninth place, one spot outside of the playoffs. A loss (also coupled with other results) could find the Fire as low as twelfth place after the regular season ends on Thursday.
Teja Oblak and Sania Feagin are out for the Fire. Bridget Carleton and Holly Winterburn are listed as questionable and Jordan Harrison is probable. No Valkyries appear on the injury report as of this writing.
