Good news is on the horizon for all NBA and Portland Trail Blazers fans. Though the start of the 2026-27 regular season is still a month away, training camps open across the league a week from today. The sport and teams you love are returning soon!
In preparation, we want to ask a couple of important questions this week. The first one relates to Media Day and preseason. What story (or stories) will captivate you most during the run-up to this year’s campaign? What questions do you want answered most? What will make you sit up in your chair and take notice before the games even count?
The big one—the one that will dominate the early headlines—is how new acquisition Ja Morant fits in with the team. He’s a talent, but he’s been on a downswing lately and he’s an odd fit with this roster. Where will new head coach Micah Nori play Morant? Will he start? How will the offense be geared around him…or will it, even? Is Morant meant to be a side player to Deni Avdija even though he’s spent his entire career as an offensive hub? It’s like watching someone put oregano into chocolate cake. You kinda want to see how this will turn out.
