Portland Trail Blazers fandom is a massive and diverse enterprise. If you’re reading this post, it’s a pretty good bet that you’re a fan of the team. But no two fans have the exact same history or rationale for liking the sport, the franchise, or a particular incarnation of same. People like these things for different reasons. What are yours?
As far as I can tell, there are five often-voiced reasons for liking a team, beyond just tradition:
- Winning: you’re there because your team succeeds.
- Talent: you enjoy the potential of the lineup.
- Exciting Play Style: you’re thrilled with the way the team plays and how they execute.
- Star Power: you are more a fan of one player on the team than the team itself.
- Chemistry/Camaraderie: it seems like a good group of guys and you’re motivated by the human interest, feel-good aspect.
