Mathis is a member of the 2026 recruiting class, and he is currently committed to Samford. His Alabama offer comes from the Tide’s wide receiver Derrick Nix.
The Crimson Tide is looking to add more talent to its wide receiver room for next season after losing multiple wide receivers to the transfer portal. Alabama currently only has six wide receivers on its 2026 roster.
Mathis is a 6-foot-1, 180-pound wide receiver. He is a deceptive route runner who flashes the ability to create separation at the top of routes.
