Why 4-Star QB Trent Seaborn’s commitment to Alabama remains ‘rock solid’

Trent Seaborn is staying locked in with Alabama football after committing to the Crimson Tide in October.

Seaborn is one of the most accomplished quarterbacks in the 2027 recruiting class. He has led the Warriors to three state championships in the 7A classification in Alabama. He remains committed to the Crimson Tide, and he plans to do whatever he needs to do to push the program forward.

“My commitment to Alabama is absolutely rock solid,” Seaborn told Touchdown Alabama. “It’s my dream school, I grew up wanting to play for. To play for my home state is an unbelievable blessing and honor, and my goal is to help Alabama however I can to win a National Championship.”

Alabama’s former quarterbacks coach, Nick Sheridan recently departed from the program. The Tide moved Bryan Ellis, who previously coached the Tide’s tight ends, to replace Sheridan.

Seaborn is a fan of the move.

“I really like coach Ellis a lot,” Seaborn said. “We’ve actually been building a relationship the past couple of years already. He’s always made it a point to check in on me when I am in T-Town, and so it was really exciting to learn he has the new role as QB coach. He’s from the south, he played the position, went to UAB, coached in Georgia and is real familiar with how different football is down here. Super excited to work with him and learn as much as I can.”

In the current college football landscape, recruiting is no longer solely based on having interest in a program. The amount of money a college football player can earn through NIL agreements has changed a lot of things. Seaborn keeps this in mined as he has taken it upon himself to help the Tide recruit the players he hopes to play alongside at the next level. His message to those recruits is simple but clear.

“The message to recruits is the same,” Seaborn said. “Come to Bama to compete against the best and compete to win a championship and be part of a program that is built on taking the long, hard road to get to the top because that’s how you’ll become your personal best and give yourself the best chance of making it to the league. That’s all of our dreams. Bama’s not for everyone. If you don’t want to compete and be challenged, if you don’t want to get coached hard or held accountable, if you’re just out chasing the biggest bag, it’s not the right place for you.”

Seaborn is coming off yet another state championship win with the Warriors. He took home the 7A State Championship Game MVP award in December when he threw for 259 yards and three touchdowns.
