Will Anderson comes to defense of C. J. Stroud after Texans get eliminated from playoff

Will Anderson showed up in a major way for the Houston Texans in a rainy playoff game against the New England Patriots.

The former Alabama defender finished the game with three sacks and two forced fumbles. Unfortunately for Anderson, his performance was not enough to catapult the Texans to the AFC Championship game.

Both teams struggled to take care of the football on Sunday. Houston’s starting quarterback C. J. Stroud had a rough first half. He threw four interceptions, making it difficult for the Texans to overcome their own mistakes.

Anderson discussed his message to Stroud after the game.

“I told him, ‘I still think you’re the best quarterback in the league,’” Anderson told reporters. “‘Hands down, there’s nobody better than you.’ We’re behind him, we’re rallying behind him. Obviously, we didn’t have the outcome that we wanted, but that’s what we have the offseason for, to get better and to grow.”

Both Stroud and Anderson will be entering their fourth season in the NFL in 2026.
