Billion-dollar entertainment district planned around FC Dallas's Toyota Stadium

The area surrounding FC Dallas’s Toyota Stadium is set for a billion-dollar transformation, with plans for a new entertainment district featuring restaurants, a hotel and a mini soccer pitch.

FC Dallas President Dan Hunt said his family’s company, Hunt Sports Development, is partnering with two other firms, Peak Curated Development and Venu Holding Corporation, on the project.

“We hope our fans now, instead of spending two hours here or spending five or six hours, maybe a whole day here, enjoying the districts around the stadium and also then coming to the match that night,” said Dan Hunt.

The additions will be built on the east side of the stadium and soccer center. Plans call for restaurants, a mini soccer pitch, a nine-story hotel with nearly 300 rooms and 40,000 square feet of convention space and about one million square feet of “premium office space.”

The announcement comes as a $215 million facelift continues at Toyota Stadium and is expected to be completed in the spring of 2028.

“Nearly three decades ago, my dad, Lamar Hunt, worked with the City of Frisco to build a stadium surrounded largely by farmland. He had a vision that someday it would become the center of a vibrant community,” said FC Dallas Chairman & CEO Clark Hunt. “Today, it is our honor to build upon our dad’s legacy and help bring that vision to life.”

Developers expect to break ground on the entertainment district next year.
