Chicago police are investigating after two people were struck by a hit-and-run driver in the Loop early Monday.
The incident was reported at around 1:55 a.m. near West Ida B Wells Drive and South Clark Street. Police said two pedestrians were in the crosswalk when they were struck by a dark-colored SUV traveling eastbound on Ida B Wells at a high rate of speed.
A 22-year-old woman sustained multiple injuries and was taken to a nearby hospital in good condition. A man was also injured and hospitalized with a broken leg. He was said to be in good condition.
No arrests had been made as of Monday evening.
The Major Accidents Investigation Unit is investigating.
