With AI-generated articles and mass layoffs abound, it’s no secret that journalism’s been barreling further and further into the crapper at a speed that’s insurmountable and—apparently!—unstoppable by Congress. But this week, several news outlets decided to dive in and crank up the process by going straight to the source of the bunk and interviewing Ms. AI Slop herself.
Yep, in a development that makes this timeline feel more and more like we’ve all somehow landed up in hell, Tilly Norwood—the AI-generated “actress” created by Swedish actor and comedian Eline Van der Velden—got to speak to CNN, NBC, the Hollywood Reporter, and others this week about hersel-, er, itself, and the technology that sh- it runs on. The interviews were scheduled as part of Norwood’s “press tour,” intended to promote Particle6’s (Van der Velden’s company) technological advancements and an upcoming AI-generated movie, “Misaligned,” starring—you guessed it—Norwood.
And, surprise, surprise, most of the interviewers that spoke to her were left freaked out, with Variety’s Corbin Bolies commenting he was left “a little more unnerved about the technology’s implications”; CBS’ Leigh Kiniry saying Norwood “creeped” her out; and Good Morning Britain’s Susanna Reid saying she found one of Norwood’s jokes about a world takeover “chilling.” (To be clear, Reid prompted the joke by asking lightheartedly if Norwood would be responsible for “destroying humans,” to which Norwood replied that that’s a “little dramatic” and that she was only trying to promote her movie, rather than world domination. Before then adding it would make for a “rather compelling sequel.”)
Susanna and Ed have had their fair share of strange interviews, but today could take the cake.
They interviewed Tilly Norwood, an actor created entirely using artificial intelligence, who will star in a feature film titled Misaligned.

I slightly sympathize. Kind of. Not really. Because I, too, imagine it’d be creepy as hell to walk straight into the Valley of Uncanny—which is exactly why I’d never walk into the Valley of Uncanny.
Alas, unlike Ms. Tilly Norwood, her “thoughts,” and weird promotional actualizations, the problems facing women in America today are actually real. The wage gap is getting worse; pregnant women around the world are dying under a conservative Trump administration; and abortion bans are ramping up maternal mortality rates. Birth control, contraception, and telehealth abortions remain under attack—and if Project 2025 keeps getting its way, things will only get worse. But never mind that. Let’s hear from Tilly instead!
