I lied. I actually have one more lingering question from Monday night’s Emmys, and it involves the actress who once allegedly said “I gotta go fuck this guy,” Shailene Woodley. On Tuesday, Us Weekly reported that “Shailene Woodley Shares Moment With Fellow Aaron Rodgers Ex Olivia Munn at 2026 Emmy Awards,” and I’m wondering: Did they discuss the CTE-riddled elephant in the room?
While Munn and Rodgers dated from 2014-2017, Woodley and Rodgers dated and were briefly engaged from 2020-2022, and were the subject of recent headlines due to some messy statements on the former quarterback’s part. Last week, Rodgers made an appearance on the Not Just Football podcast and revealed his side of the 4-year-old breakup with Woodley—amongst other troubling things—and said, “I date Shailene, I propose, and she says yes. She maybe felt like she was forced to make a decision. She could have said no. But not a couple of days after that, she tells me, ‘Before we get married, I got to go fuck this guy.’”
Overnight, the quote Rodgers attributed to Woodley became an instant classic, and is already being pasted over fancams of Vampire Diaries, The Summer I Turned Pretty, and Shiv from Succession (the true indicator of success).

According to Us Weekly, who was in attendance at Monday night’s Emmys, “Woodley, 34, was seen deep in conversation with Munn, 46.” I wonder what they were talking about!
All the more fascinating: “At one point, Munn held Woodley’s hand as the latter shook her head at something they were discussing.”
“…The latter shook her head…” What ever could that mean? Is holding hands and shaking head enough to assume they were standing in solidarity against their common enemy? Discussing the “gotta go fuck this guy” memes? Scheduling a coffee date with Rodger’s other ex, Danica Patrick, who he also shit-talked? Maybe they were discussing the thrill of Woodley’s guest appearance on Paradise, for which she won an Emmy for Outstanding Guest Actress in a Drama Series. It doesn’t always have to be about the shitty guy, after all, who claimed that his exes’ only “claim to fame” was dating him.
The outlet captured part of an exchange between Munn and Woodley on video, but unfortunately not the alleged “deep conversation” part.
In the video, Woodley greets Munn and her husband, John Mulaney, and they exchange a brief hello and how-are-you. Not proof of a deep conversation, but proof enough that they are friendly and more than capable of bonding over horror stories of their shared ex.
In his podcast appearance, Rodgers also called Woodley out directly when he said, “Shai, you left me. You took the ring off. What are we talking about? I ‘ruined your life?’ Just stop with the narrative. It’s time to move on. Move on with your life.” But on Sunday, when TMZ approached Woodley and asked for a “comment about Aaron Rodgers,” she just laughed and kept walking. So, maybe someone tell Aaron that’s how you move on.
