Jennifer Lawrence has joined Instagram… for now…Because if anyone gets toxic or trolls her in the comments (excluding discourse on serious issues such as Real Housewives), she will not hesitate to delete the whole thing—not that you, dear reader, would even think of saying anything negative about her. Right? RIGHT?!
On Wednesday, Instagram user @jlaw materialized, the actress’s first-ever official Instagram account, and within 24 hours, she had already amassed nearly a million followers. As of Thursday, Lawrence made her first official post, a video in which she issues a warning to all:
“So yeah, I’m giving it a shot, and if anyone says anything negative, I will quit. Immediately. No questions asked,” she said. “If anyone thinks something mean, I’ll know. I’ll know, and I’ll quit.”
“It started off with Real Housewives—kind of, like, fights, back and forth. Kardashians, that kind of thing. And then it got really intense when I started commenting on the Royal Family,” she told co-star Robert Pattinson. “One girl was like, ‘How old are you? Get a life!’” Suffice it to say, she made troll enemies, and now she is all too familiar with the horrors that live within an internet comment section. Hence, her sensitivities.
So far, Lawrence follows 46 people, including, but not limited to, Andy Cohen (obvi), Miss Piggy, all of the Kardashians/Jenners, Martin Scorsese, Josh Hutcherson (cute!), Dior, Ms. Rachel, NPR, and her husband, Cooke Maroney.
I, as one of her 980k-and-counting followers, am ecstatic that Lawrence is joining the platform, if only to see her (hopefully) document her effortlessly chic OOTDs—I must know the creative process behind this incredible biking outfit.
Also very much looking forward to hearing her hot takes on Real Housewives. (Was Alicia from Real Housewives of Rhode Island actually ever homeless? Need J Law’s two cents.)
