On May 30, 2023, when Theranos CEO and founder Elizabeth Holmes reported to Federal Prison Camp Bryan to serve her 11-year sentence for wire fraud, little did we know that for the entire month leading up to her imprisonment, she was living with the incomparable Nathan Fielder—comedian, filmmaker, and commercial pilot. Which, sure, answers a few questions, like why he’d been reportedly visiting her in prison… but leaves us hanging with many more.
On Sunday, Fielder unveiled the contents of his quote-unquote “top-secret project,” which he and director Lance Oppenheim have been working on for the past three years: “You Can See Everything,” a documentary following Holmes in the month before her imprisonment. During that month, Fielder actually lived at her home with her, along with her partner, Billy Evans, and their two young children. And if you know anything about Fielder and Holmes, this is destined to be terrifying, cringe-inducing, and brilliant two hours of cinema.

In the trailer, Holmes—who, in 2025, told People that she was “more determined than ever to fight for my freedom”—repeats to Fielder that she is not trying to deceive him: “Why would I deceive you?” she asks, while eerily shaking her head. “There’s no reason for me to do that. I’m always being real.”
According to Vanity Fair’s Rebecca Ward, who reported from the screening at the Telluride Film Festival over the weekend, the documentary also reveals that Holmes and Evans are working on a Theranos 2.0, a new and improved version of her fraudulent blood-testing company that led to her fall from grace (and that led to a Hulu miniseries starring Amanda Seyfried!). Fielder and Oppenheim also paint in their work a portrait of the lesser-infamous Evans, who is apparently manufacturing Holmes’ online presence and contributing to the strange vibes.
But on an even more intriguing note… there is a shocking twist that occurs after Holmes enters prison, wherein Fielder dips into his past bit from The Rehearsal and a “notable Hollywood actress” steps in.
“The audience was asked by Fielder and Oppenheim to not reveal the person who appears in the doc because of the overwhelming shock of that twist,” wrote Vanity Fair, meaning now I have to know who it is.
My first guess is Jennifer Lawrence—she was once attached to a scrapped Holmes movie prior to the Seyfried’s Hulu series, and she checks the boxes of “notable Hollywood actress.” But that twist wouldn’t “overwhelm” me, per se. It’s too easy. It has to be someone out of left field. Like Hillary Clinton. Or Sydney Sweeney. Or Dolly Parton, may God rest her soul.
After the screening, Fielder and Oppenheim sat for a Q&A, moderated by Emma Stone, during which Fielder said, “Truly, to this day, I don’t quite know what I went through.” “I really am struggling to this day to understand exactly what I experienced,” he continued. “And one of the things I’m genuinely excited about is for this movie to come out and for people to help me understand what I experienced.”
Well, counting down the (38!) days until I get to cringe in a theatre for two hours while watching this. But until then, I will be taking bets on who our secret celebrity cameo will be.
