Bayern Munich’s coach is known for his affectionate personality and for being loved by his squad. However, Kompany is also a demanding manager who does not shy away from confrontation and is willing to push his players to their limits. Club newcomer Ismael Saibari explained this dichotomy in his gaffer.
In a recent interview with Bundesliga, the 25-year-old was asked about Kompany’s style of coaching. “He’s a really nice guy. During games, he becomes very passionate. But I think that’s normal. Every footballer, when they go onto the pitch, is more passionate. Sometimes they do stupid stuff just because of the emotions. But I don’t mind that,” answered Saibari.
Successfully handling the locker room has been one of the biggest strengths for Kompany’s success with Bayern. The winning culture established at the club synced superbly with the Belgian coach’s unrelenting drive for improvement. In his second season numerous records were smashed by his team as they lifted the elusive DFB-Pokal after a six-year wait. Apart from the results, the brand of football Bayern play has won the hearts of fans, management and neutral watchers alike.
