The National Weather Service forecast for the greater San Francisco Bay Area for Tuesday calls for chances of rain and slight chances of fog throughout the day.
Daytime highs will be mostly in the mid 60s on the coast, high 60s to low 70s around the bay and inland. Overnight lows will be mostly in the low to mid 50s.
Forecasters say cooler weather and light rain are expected across the region on Tuesday as a weak storm system moves through, bringing clouds and a chance of showers before another round of rain arrives later in the week.
According to the NWS, an upper-level disturbance moving across the area will lower temps and produce scattered light rain Tuesday morning, with chances ranging from about 10% to 20% before sunrise and increasing to 30% to 50% by mid- to late morning. Coastal mountains along the Central Coast could see higher rain chances of 60% to 80%.
Rainfall totals are expected to remain light, generally around one-tenth of an inch or less across most areas, according to the weather service.
Conditions are expected to dry out Tuesday night before another round of light rain is expected to return by mid-Wednesday and continue into Thursday. This will be followed by a return to warmer-than-normal temps and offshore winds starting Friday and lasting into the weekend, forecasters say.
