What To Watch For
- Who Will Go Off For The Badgers? – With how non-existent Penn State’s defense has been, particularly on the perimeter, it’s a safe bet that somebody on Wisconsin will get red-hot from three-point range and go off against them. My money is on either John Blackwell (38.5% on 45-of-117) or Braeden Carrington (28-for-67, 41.8%) doing so.
- A Fully Healthy Freddie? – While it was a pleasant surprise to see Freddie Dilione play last Sunday against Maryland, he came off the bench and had his minutes limited to just 15. Hopefully, with a few extra days of rest, he will be more healthy and might even find his way back into the starting lineup. If PSU is going to have any chance whatsoever of pulling off the upset, Freddie will need to go off alongside Kayden Mingo
- Is There Any Fight Left? – Will we see this Penn State come out re-invigorated and looking to get the bad taste out of their mouths from allowing Maryland to absolutely light them up? We’ve seen this team come within a missed three-pointer at the buzzer from upsetting a Top 5 Michigan squad and play Purdue tough for a while on the road.
Prediction
I’m gonna go out on a limb and say Penn State keeps this game much closer than did against Maryland. That being said, we all know this PSU team’s achilles’ heel(s) and earning their first Big Ten win over this Wisconsin team is going to take a Herculean effort from the underdog and an off-night from the opponent. When you play 20 games in a conference slate, anything is possible, but I’ll have to see it to believe it.
Wisconsin 83, Penn State 75
