Penn State has quickly found a replacement following the cancellation of the 2027 non-conference game with Delaware. Penn State will now host the Maine Black Bears in week two, set for September 11, 2027.
This will mark the first meeting between Penn State and Maine on the football field. The Black Bears are coming off a 6-6 season in 2025, playing in the FCS Coastal Athletic Conference. The CAA also includes Villanova, which was a non-conference opponent in 2025.
Penn State’s non-conference slate will also include a season opener with Syracuse, and a week three match-up with Temple.
