Davante Adams Turns Heads With Packers-Bears Comments After Rams Win in Chicago

The 2025 NFL season is over for the Green Bay Packers, but that didn’t stop some fans of the storied franchise from having a rooting interest during the Divisional Round of the NFL playoffs this past weekend.

On Sunday, the division rival Chicago Bears played host to the Los Angeles Rams, with superstar wide receiver Davante Adams getting another chance to stick to the team he used to love facing while with the Packers.

During an appearance on Up & Adams with Kay Adams ahead of Sunday’s game in Chicago, Adams had some interesting things to say about the Packers.

“I’ve got a little bit of that Green Bay still in my memory bank and built into my skin, so hopefully it’s not too big of a deal and go out there and hopefully handle business like we’re accustomed to doing,” Adams said ahead of the playoff showdown with the Bears in Chicago.

It seems Packers fans were rooting for the Rams because of Adams, which led the superstar wideout to admit the following.

“Once a Packer, always a Packer,” Adams said. “It’s one of those situations where obviously I have loyalty to them, but I’m doing this for the Rams. Unfortunately, this is not for the Packers people, but if they get something from it, I love that as well.”

In the end, the Rams ended the Bears’ season with a three-point road win at Soldier Field, which almost certainly made the Packers faithful happy.

After getting the best of the Bears in Chicago on Sunday, Adams admitted the playoff clash with Caleb Williams and company felt like the “old Packers-Bears rivalry games,” as the game came down to the wire.

“It felt like one of the old Packer-Bears rivalry games,” Adams said, via Stacey Dales of NFL Network. “I’m not on the Packers anymore, but it was a beautiful game. The weather and everything about it just felt like the playoffs, and we came out of the right side of it, so it’s even better.

“To be honest, I’m not even trying to be … We kind of talked it up to be something crazier than what it is, and we’re out here playing football just like any other day, but it’s a little chilly…”

Adams also endorsed his Rams teammate, star quarterback Matthew Stafford, for the NFL MVP award.

“He certainly should be,” Adams said of Stafford potentially being named NFL MVP. “You see everything he does out there. The way he commands the huddle. Obviously, the numbers speak for themselves, but just the cool cat that he is, to come out here and lead this team the way he has all year, it is a beautiful thing.”

At this point, it seems like Stafford has the edge in the two-man race for NFL MVP, with Drake Maye of the New England Patriots trailing the veteran quarterback, but it remains to be seen who’ll get the nod when it is announced ahead of the Super Bowl on Feb. 5.
