For Matthew Stafford and the Los Angeles Rams, frigid temperatures be damned. The team certainly heard all the narratives about how they would perform in the cold against the Chicago Bears at Soldier Field, and they responded.

Stafford was not his normal self, but was also unapologetic. After all, the Rams are heading back to the NFC Championship Game for the first time since they won the Super Bowl in 2021.

He got more good news from the NFL on Monday, and the Rams rightfully amplified it.

The Pro Football Writers of America announced the selections for this season’s All-NFL and All-Conference teams, and Stafford was one of three Rams players on the list, joining wide receiver Puka Nacua and outside linebacker Byron Young.

Stafford and Nacua were All-NFL and All-NFC. Stafford led the NFL in passing yards and touchdowns, while Nacua led in receptions, receiving first downs, and receiving yards per game.

Young, who earned All-NFC honors, tied for the eighth-most sacks with 12.0 in 2025.

“PFWA recognition for the guys! [clapping hands emoji],” the Rams posted on X on January 19. All three players were Pro Bowlers this season. Of the trio of award-winners on Monday, only Stafford has experienced that glory.

Up next, the Rams must settle their season-series tie against their NFC West rivals, the Seattle Seahawks.

It is an evenly matched contest.

For LA, part of the hope is that Stafford will perform better in the face of pressure and adversity than his counterpart, Sam Darnold, as the Rams look to stamp their ticket to Santa Clara for the Super Bowl.

Matthew Stafford Keeps It Real After Rams’ Win

Stafford was not his typically efficient self in the Rams’ win over the Bears in the NFC Divisional Playoffs.

He completed a season-worst 47.6% of his passes for 258 yards, 0 touchdowns, 0 interceptions, and took 4 sacks. He also fumbled twice, but the Rams did not lose possession in either instance. All of that was a mere footnote for the veteran passer.

He cited his 324-2-0 line on 59.1% completion against the Philadelphia Eagles in 2024.

“I definitely didn’t get into a great rhythm today. There’s no question about that. Had some opportunities in the past game. Just some things that made it tough. Obviously, I can be better. But playoff football is about winning the football game. Played great, threw for a bunch of yards last year in the snow, and we lost,” Stafford told reporters on January 18.

“That sucks. So, I’m happy to have played a little bit worse today and going home with a win. So we’ll take that.”

Matthew Stafford vs Seahawks

Stafford’s numbers against the Seahawks from the regular season paint an encouraging picture for the Rams heading into the NFC Championship Game.

Stafford completed 57.1% of his throws for 587 yards, 5 TDs, and 0 INTs. Still, the Rams were only able to manage a split with the Seahawks. LA lost in Seattle, where the NFCCG will take place, in overtime after the Seahawks successfully converted a 2-point attempt.

The Rams could need even more from Stafford this time around.
