Following yesterday’s predictably ugly game between our Miami Dolphins and the San Francisco 49ers, I asked:
What is your overall take on today’s second game of the season for your Miami Dolphins under the new coaching staff and with the overhauled roster? What are the positive and negative takeaways from this afternoon’s game, both as a team and with individual players?
Below are some of your thoughts on our Dolphins and yesterday’s loss-
I Hate Sports predicts more of the same for week three.
Dolphins have KC at home next week at noon. Another 38-13 loss incoming.
Olddolphin points to the lack of pass rush thus far.
The Defense hasn’t shown any pass rush in two games. Without a pass rush no way to evaluate the secondary. Austin Jackson is terrible. He hasn’t blocked anybody in two games. Unless Willis is given some time, there is no way to evaluate him or the receivers.
SOD1961 just pointed out that we could be getting blown out even worse.
On the bright side, the cumulative score after 2 weeks in 2019 was 102-10.
Lefty5150 points out that it’s bad on both sides of the ball at this point.
I saw a bad offense and a bad defense. Do they have some building blocks…….yes. Oline is ok Achane is great but they need a big time TE and another Wr for starters. On D they need pass rushers and another corner and safety. 100M will fill a lot of these holes.
Wolfpack1 sees a top draft pick coming.

Zen4Phins sees inconsistency that will only get better.
Thought they played a team way ahead of them in every way. Oline moves the dline on one play beautifully, then misses completely the next. Kinda sums up what we’re likely gonna get used to. Dline is struggling in pass rush and our secondary against that offense is blessed that Miami was able to run clock in the 1st half. Malik holds on a little too long frequently but can’t tell if its recievers issue or hesitation on his part or likely combo of.
Looked pretty good against run though. The offense didn’t turn the ball over and got a lucky bounce early from Herman and there was Pinion who probably won’t let that happen again. Looked good on return coverage and we weren’t punting the whole game.
Overall, the 9ers are just way too good at this time and this place on this day for us. But next week, next week we FEAST!

Well, on the bright side, we scored more than the rams did.
USMCFinPhreak wishes he had not spent the fortune on NFL Sunday Ticket this season. I feel your pain!
This team is a mess and I blame mainly Grier. Yes, he IS to blame. I will blame him until we can get our salary cap back under control. We all knew that once we fired him, the house of cards would crumble. Sullivan and Hafley are just picking up the crappy cards that were dealt to them. They had to purge the players with the bloated contracts, just to get it under control.
But the ultimate blame goes to Ross. He was the one who hired and kept Grier. We, as fans, knew Grier wasn’t making sound decisions throughout his tenure, but he handed Ross rose-colored glasses and Ross failed to take them off until it was too late.
This team seems to be worse than an franchise expansion team, with a bunch of scabs haplessly scurrying about the gridiron. Yes, we do have a few promising rookies, but it will take time for them to grasp the speed of the NFL.
I promised myself that I would not get the NFL Sunday Ticket this year because I know they would be horrible, but my wife encouraged me to do so. I’m sorry she did!
The Pod of Dolphins knows that even the most painful seasons must come to an end.
This will be over soon, there is only 15 games left on the season
StanleyDoyle1 is not pleased with the offensive game planning up to this point.
The offensive play-calling is abysmal. The offensive line is not the problem, and we have a great RB who can mask other weaknesses. But Willis is not a game-changing QB who will carry a team on his shoulders. He’s just not accurate enough, nor does he make decisions quickly enough. But he’s our QB and he needs help. So design a game plan around him so he can have a modicum of success.
Peter j sees a bunch of kids going out there and playing hard, something that will eventually pay dividends.

Positive: game tix should be extremely inexpensive this year!
Negatives: O-line is a trainwreck or they really hate Malik. They block their azzz off for the running game but can’t block for crap on passing plays. Malik is not a good QB, just cuz he can scramble and isn’t injury prone like Tua, doesn’t make Willis a good QB. Meanwhile defense, who knows but Purdy, not to my surprise, embarrassed us….for 3 painful Qtrs!
I got it…our team is horrible due to salary cap. This isn’t all about wins n losses, we are a completely dysfunctional organization. Billionaire Steve Ross might want to consider rewarding season ticket holders a huge discount.
Well, that’s our somewhat painful random selection of comments for this evening. I guess this season is starting as ugly as most of us expected. Hopefully, going forward, we can at least start to see steady growth among the younger players on this roster as the season progresses, knowing that this is not likely a one- or two-year rebuild.
