A 19-year-old man was killed and another was seriously injured in a crash on Highway 101 in San Jose early Sunday, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The solo-vehicle crash happened around 2:06 a.m. on northbound Highway 101 at Yerba Buena Road.
CHP said a preliminary investigation indicates the driver of a 2013 Ford Fusion lost control of the vehicle while traveling northbound.
A 19-year-old passenger from Fairfield was ejected from the vehicle and died from his injuries, according to CHP.
The driver, a 19-year-old man from San Mateo, was taken to a hospital with major injuries.
CHP said it is not yet known whether alcohol or drugs were factors in the crash.
