The Seattle Seahawks closed out their 10th-straight victory over the Arizona Cardinals without their first-round pick, Jadarian Price, due to a chest injury on Sunday.
After the team’s 31-7 win, Seahawks head coach Mike Macdonald said X-rays on Price’s chest came back negative, but didn’t expand on the severity of the injury.
If Price does miss time, the Seahawks would be left with only two running backs on the active roster, George Holani and Emmanuel Wilson. Zach Charbonnet is still recovering from a torn ACL he suffered in last season’s playoff run. Seattle has running backs Velus Jones Jr. and Jacardia Wright on the practice squad, who could be elevated to fill the void next week.
Price, who combined with Wilson to propel the Seahawks’ offense for much of the day, was listed as questionable in the fourth quarter. Against the Cardinals, Price ran for 52 yards on 13 carries, including a 25-yard burst in the third quarter. He did commit his first career fumble, which the Cardinals recovered but failed to score off of.
Wilson had a fantastic day closing out Seattle’s win, posting 92 yards on 21 carries, which may give the Seahawks confidence to be careful with Price as they look forward to their matchup with the 0-2 Washington Commanders next Sunday.
