
A person was killed in a shooting Monday morning in Oakland, according to police.
Oakland police said officers responded just after 10:30 a.m. to a ShotSpotter activation in the 2000 block of 23rd Avenue.
When officers arrived, they found a victim suffering from at least one apparent gunshot wound. The victim died at the scene, police said.
The Oakland Police Department’s Homicide Section is investigating the circumstances surrounding the shooting. The victim’s identity is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
Police have not released information about a possible suspect or what may have led to the shooting.
