I remember "Jefferson Street" Joe, the kid threw a ball like Joe Namath- a thing of beauty. His down- fall was drugs- I think he couldn't handle the pressure of the NFL. I think his last game was against the Rams, as I recall. Two years ago, I was jogging around a football field at a high school in Henderson Nevada and saw this kid throwing to a couple receivers, practicing. I stopped dead in my tracks and thought of Joe Gilliam immediately; just caught me out of the blue. P. S. I was a big Hanratty fan back then; until Bradshaw blossomed- BB isn't even on the same page as TB, IMO. Bradshaw called all his own plays!
