Yup -- odds are long. But in 1998 Matt Hasselbeck was drafted in R6 and was a long-term starter.
He was fortunate to have a very good offensive coach that knew how to position QB to be successful (Holmgren). Holmgren drafted him in Green Bay and then traded for him later when Holmgren was in Seattle.
Hasselbeck was never going to be a starter in Green Bay. But he went to Seattle and won a Super Bowl. And he had an average NFL arm who relied on timing and touch.
This example also highlights that at some point it doesn't matter what round you were drafted. It matters more if a coach believes in you.
