
Chicago police have issued a community alert after three recent robberies in which victims’ phones were stolen at gunpoint.
According to authorities, the robberies have occurred in recent weeks in the Lake Meadows and Bronzeville neighborhoods, including two thefts on August 14.
In each of the robberies, one or multiple suspects have approached victims, pulled out weapons, and demanded the victim’s phone. The suspects then order the victim to unlock the phone before fleeing the scene on foot.
According to police, the robberies have occurred:
August 6, 10:15 p.m. in the 400 block of East 32nd Street
August 14, 11:45 p.m. in the 400 block of East 32nd Street
August 14 in the 3000 block of South State Street
No suspects have been taken into custody, and police are continuing to investigate the incidents.
