A woman walking her dog found a man who was fatally shot in the head Monday morning in Van Nuys.
Shell casings were found at the scene after officers responded at about 2 a.m. to the residential neighborhood location near Murrieta and Hazeltine avenues, east of Van Nuys Boulevard.
The person, who died at the scene, was identified only as a man in his 40s. Details about what led to the shooting were not immediately available.
No arrests were reported. A description of the shooter was not available Monday morning.
