Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy and Ann Michael Maye, New England Patriots quarterback Drake Maye’s wife and the star of the viral “Bakemas” TikTok series, teamed up for one of Portnoy’s famous “One Bite” pizza reviews this week.
The Boston media duo stopped by Gianni’s Deli and Pizza on Highland Avenue in Needham, Massachusetts, in a video posted Thursday to Portnoy’s social media accounts.
As usual, Portnoy went in and purchased a pizza, and said the owners had “no idea” who he was.
Portnoy and Maye then went outside of the pizza shop and took a bite, before sharing their rankings.
Maye gave Gianni’s a very high ranking, landing at 8.1.
“I think it’s good,” Maye said.
Portnoy went a bit lower, giving it a 7.7, but only because he said it was a bit messy.
“In my scale, an 8.1 means you drive an hour to eat it,” Portnoy said. “But that’s fine. I think this is actually pretty good.”
Soon after conducting their review, the owner came outside to thank Portnoy, explaining that she wasn’t even aware of who he was.
“I’m so happy today,” the owner said.
She then invited Portnoy and Maye back into the shop to give them something to drink, and also made Portnoy a helping of her famous chicken parm, which he proceeded to devour.
Maye also revealed during the segment that her husband got his offensive lineman saunas as Christmas gifts and predicted a win for the Patriots against the Chargers on Sunday.
