A driver allegedly fled the scene after crashing into a tree in Brookline, Massachusetts, early Friday morning.
Brookline police said it appeared to be a hit-and-run that occurred on Aspinwall Avenue at Toxeth around 5:49 a.m. The driver was reported to have fled the scene, and the car was on fire.

According to police, a possible suspect was later found injured a few blocks away, and he was taken to Beth Israel for treatment. Officers were at the hospital, and an investigation is underway.
It’s unclear if any charges may be filed, or what led to the crash.
