High pressure over Montreal will spread its influence into the mid-Atlantic and allow our run of sunny days to keep going.
In practical terms, this means our next chance for rain still looks to be more than a week away. In fact, there’s an increasing chance that our next raindrops don’t get here until Election Day, on Nov. 3.
Friday and Saturday will be just a bit cooler than average, with highs in the low to mid-60s for most. Friday night and Saturday night will be quite cold.
The growing season has largely ended in the Shenandoah Valley and northern Maryland, but if you have cold-sensitive plants, and you’re outside the Beltway, be prepared for a frost or freeze threat these next two nights.

After a cold start Sunday morning, milder air will begin to return. Highs on Sunday will get into the mid-to-upper 60s. D.C. is likely to be back in the 70s or most of next week.
The storm called Josephine is now heading out into the North Atlantic and no longer poses a threat to North America. This will allow the rough surf and strong rip currents along our Eastern Shore beaches to settle down and stop the significant beach erosion that’s been taking place.
