One person was killed and four others were injured in a four-vehicle crash on I-91 South in North Haven late Friday night after a wrong-way driver struck another vehicle head-on, according to Connecticut State Police.
Troopers said a 30-year-old man from Bridgeport was driving a Chevrolet Silverado northbound in the southbound lanes of the highway on Friday shortly before midnight when he hit a Honda Accord head-on.
After that collision, state police said the Honda Accord was then hit by two additional vehicles.
The driver of the Honda Accord, later identified by state police as 21-year-old Ryan O’Shea, of New York, was pronounced dead at the scene.
According to troopers, the driver of the Chevrolet Silverado was transported to Yale New Haven Hospital to be treated for serious, life-threatening injuries.
The other two drivers and one of their passengers reportedly had minor injuries and were transported to the hospital for treatment.
The State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Squad is investigating.
