Rays-Guardians Game 4 postponed due to rain. Here's the updated ALCS schedule

There won’t be any playoff baseball Friday night.

Game 4 of the 2026 American League Championship Series between the Tampa Bay Rays and Cleveland Guardians has been postponed due to rain, MLB announced.

The postseason contest, which was scheduled for 8 p.m. ET at Progressive Field in Cleveland, started in a delay and was called off shortly after 9 p.m. ET.

It’s the first time an ALCS game has been postponed since 2019, when the New York Yankees hosted the Houston Astros.

Game 4 will now be played Saturday at 8 p.m. ET, with Game 5 being pushed back to Sunday at 5 p.m. ET. The potential Games 6 and 7 would be played as originally scheduled, according to MLB.com.

Here’s an updated look at the remaining series schedule:

  • Game 4: Rays at Guardians — Saturday, Oct. 17, 8 p.m. ET
  • Game 5: Rays at Guardians — Sunday, Oct. 18, 5 p.m. ET
  • Game 6 (if necessary): Guardians at Rays — Monday, Oct. 19, 8 p.m. ET
  • Game 7 (if necessary): Guardians at Rays — Tuesday, Oct. 20, 8 p.m. ET

All games will air on TBS and stream live on HBO Max.

The No. 2-seeded Guardians won Game 3 to take a 2-1 series edge over the No. 1 Rays. Cleveland has won five of its last six playoff games since falling into a 2-0 ALDS hole against the No. 6 Chicago White Sox.

The MLB-best Milwaukee Brewers await the winner of the ALCS in the World Series. Milwaukee swept the two-time reigning champion No. 2 Los Angeles Dodgers to capture its first-ever National League pennant.

The Fall Classic is scheduled to start Friday, Oct. 23, in Milwaukee.
