A woman has been found dead inside an SUV in a parking lot in Langley Park, Maryland.
Security video obtained by News4’s sister station Telemundo 44 appears to show that the red SUV the woman was found in Wednesday afternoon may have been there since Monday night.
The video from a nearby business shows a man who appears to be grabbing at the driver’s side door handle of an SUV as the vehicle moves forward and then hits a tree. Telemundo 44’s Freixys Casado viewed additional video that shows the man getting into the SUV and parking it in a way that makes it less conspicuous, before leaving in a second vehicle.
The owner of the business provided a date and time stamp, which he says is accurate, showing the video was recorded at 9:12 p.m. Monday. That was a day and a half before Prince George’s County Police were called to the parking lot of the Dollar General store in the 2000 block of University Boulevard around noon Wednesday for what they described as a “welfare check.”
They located the woman’s body inside the red Honda SUV.
Detectives were back at the scene Wednesday evening, they appeared to be canvassing the area for information. Police have officially said very little, except to describe this as a death investigation.
News4 has learned the red Honda SUV is similar to the one driven by a missing 29-year-old mother. According to the information posted online by her family, she was last seen in her vehicle two blocks away from the Family Dollar store.
News4 has also learned detectives are in possession of video from the back of the Dollar Store, which shows the parking lot.
