A man was arrested Tuesday night after allegedly destroying planters at a Sherman Oaks apartment complex before attacking a resident and jumping from a second-floor window, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
Police responded at about 7:30 p.m. to the 4900 block of Coldwater Canyon Avenue after several callers reported a man damaging planters at the property.
The man then broke into an apartment and used a candlestick holder to attack a woman, police said. The woman hid and the attacker jumped from a second-floor window, but neighbors apprehended the man and held him until police arrived, the LAPD said.
The suspect appeared to be under the influence of narcotics, police said. He was transported to a hospital.He was expected to be arrested on suspicion of felony burglary and vandalism, police said.
