Police are searching for the driver and passenger of a vehicle that struck two pedestrians, killing one of them, in South Los Angeles on Tuesday.
The crash was reported at about 9:30 p.m. on the 5900 block of 10th Street, according to the Los Angeles Police Department. There, a driver hit two pedestrians, killing one at the scene and hospitalizing the other.
According to police, the occupants of the vehicle ran away from the scene. LAPD confirmed the occupants were one man and one woman. A witness who said he heard the impact corroborated police’s details.
“A girl jumped out the driver’s seat, a guy jumped out the passenger seat and they took off running,” the witness said.
Details on the victims, such as their approximate age and gender, were not immediately available. The extent of the surviving victim’s injuries is also unclear.
A detailed description of the vehicle involved in the hit-and-run and its occupants was not available.
