A woman was found shot and killed inside a home in Aldie, Virginia, on Tuesday. Hours later, her husband was arrested in Pennsylvania for the killing, authorities said.
Loudoun County Sheriff Mike Chapman said a relative called authorities and told them Roger Bradford had just killed his wife Lisa Bradford. The relative said Roger Bradford told them about the killing over the phone.
Deputies then found Lisa Bradford dead inside a home in the 24000 block of Quimby Oaks Place in Aldie a short time later at about 12:10 p.m., the sheriff said.
Roger Bradford, 60, was nowhere to be found. Chapman said he left the scene in a rental car, which investigators tracked to Pennsylvania. Pennsylvania State Police took Bradford into custody.
Investigators are still searching for the handgun that was used in the shooting, Chapman said.
Lisa Bradford was a real estate agent in the area. Neighbors told News4 she was a kind person who was very involved in the community.
“She was just a good person. She would always send us a gift every once and a while and check in with us, see how we’re doing. It’s just really heartbreaking,” neighbor John Niles said of Lisa Bradford.
The couple had three children together, Chapman said.
