Ravens vs. Cowboys odds: Opening lines for Week 3 matchup

High expectations for the Baltimore Ravens’ home opener gave way to a disappointing 24-17 loss to the New Orleans Saints. Next up, the team is heading to Brazil to take on the Dallas Cowboys, who are fresh of a dominant 34-17 victory over the Washington Commanders.

The Ravens open Week 3 as three-point favorites over the Cowboys (via FanDuel Sportsbook). Dallas is technically the home team in this matchup, and their internationally-recognized brand could give them more supporters in the stands of Maracaña Stadium in Rio de Janeiro. But will that be enough to constitute a home-field advantage when both teams are traveling to another continent and playing in an entirely foreign stadium?

The matchup is further complicated by reports of poor field conditions from Pro Football Talk’s Mike Florio and A to Z Sports’ Mauricio Rodriguez. The NFL has downplayed those concerns, but both teams could wait until they assess the field in person before making decisions on players dealing with injuries, especially those affecting lower body parts.

The Ravens did not have wide receiver Zay Flowers (hamstring) on the field on Sunday, and left tackle Ronnie Stanley (toe) left the game and did not return. Returning to the field after months away on an international trip with a questionable playing surface could also be a tough ask for defensive tackle Nnamdi Madubuike (neck) and Teddye Buchanan (knee).

The Cowboys entered the season relatively healthy outside of a thumb injury to left guard Tyler Smith that landed him on injured reserve. But in their first two games, they have already lost three defensive backs: cornerback Cobie Durant (hamstring) and safeties Malik Hooker (arm) and P.J. Locke (foot). Those absences could quickly place Dallas’ secondary under the microscope against a Baltimore passing game that ranks third with 8.3 yards per play and ninth with +0.16 EPA/dropback.
