The Baltimore Ravens dropped to 1-1 after losing at home to the New Orleans Saints in Week 2. Here is a breakdown of the team’s player snap counts on offense and defense from the 24-17 defeat.
Offense
- QB: Lamar Jackson 58

Jackson was protected by his starting offensive line for the entire game with the exception of Ronnie Stanley, who was replaced by Carson Vinson for the last 13 snaps. Stanley’s toe injury forced him to exit the game early and he was the only injury casualty for the offense.
Derrick Henry was nearly matched in snaps by Justice Hill and played 53% of the share. Henry notably only received five carries in the second half with the Ravens trying to protect a lead. He had 87 scrimmage yards and a touchdown. Rasheen Ali has not been a factor in the running back rotation to begin the season.
At wide receiver, Chris Moore (32 snaps) and LaJohntay Wester (31 snaps) saw elevated playing time with Zay Flowers absent. Devontez Walker returned from injury and only received 17 snaps despite making a long 47-yard reception in the first half. Rookie Elijah Sarratt was activated to play but did not receive any offensive snaps. Rashod Bateman played all but four snaps and had a team-high seven catches for 88 yards with a touchdown.
Like Sarratt, fellow rookies Matthew Hibner and Josh Cuevas played limited roles on offense. Hibner’s 19 snaps were slightly down from last week and neither saw a target in the passing game. Mark Andrews dominated the snap share (71%) at the position and caught six passes for 49 yards. Durham Smythe played over 50% of snaps as a blocking piece.

Veteran Calais Campbell led all defensive lineman in snaps with 40, closely followed by Travis Jones (38). The Ravens distributed defensive reps to all five players in the rotation again, with Aeneas Peebles bringing up the rear with eight snaps. Broderick Washington and John Jenkins ate up a combined 48 snaps.
On the edge, Tavius Robinson’s 53 snaps were by far the highest of the group. Trey Hendrickson played 53% of defensive plays while nursing a broken finger injury, but still managed to record a sack — as did Robinson. Mike Green saw a huge jump in playing time from last week (32 snaps) and made an impact with a team-high two quarterback hits, two tackles for loss and a sack. Zion Young saw a slight uptick in playing time (23 snaps).
Roquan Smith did not leave the field. Next to him, Trenton Simpson’s 62% snap share saw him make a couple notable plays including a big tackle for loss. It will be interesting to see how Simpson’s playing time changes when Teddye Buchanan makes his return from injury soon.
Nate Wiggins and Marlon Humphrey each played all but one play at cornerback. Rookie nickel Chandler Rivers jumped Keyon Martin in the pecking order in this game, playing 24 snaps with a tackle for loss. Surprisingly, veteran Chidobe Awuzie was once again iced out of the defensive game plan and saw just one snap. The Ravens seem to be opting for three-safety looks and giving their young slot corners reps over Awuzie.
Malaki Starks played the entire game and Kyle Hamilton left the field for one play. Jaylinn Hawkins had another near every-down role with 64 snaps. The Ravens struggled with missed tackles on defense in this game, particularly over the middle of the field.
