While our Spartans may have fallen to Notre Dame on Saturday, the MSU defense had its moments as they held the Fighting Irish to a season-low 27 points (previous low was 41). But one name amongst the defenders shined brighter than the others.
After MSU surrendered a 61-yard pass on ND’s first play from scrimmage, Jordan Hall recorded a tackle on three consecutive running plays, plays which yielded 0, 0, and 7 yards, to force a FG attempt for the Irish. On Notre Dame’s 2nd possession, Hall was in on the tackle for three straight plays – two zero-yard runs sandwiched around a 7-yard pass – to force a 4th down, though the Irish did go for it and picked up a first down.
For the game, Jordan Hall 13 total tackles, 9 solo, and 1 TFL. And he did this after missing the prior game with an elbow injury. The monster effort earned Hall 92% of the vote in our player of the week survey. Congratulations to Hall on earning the week 3 award.
