The University of Iowa Athletics Department has officially released its Week 4 depth chart as the Hawkeyes prepare to take the level of competition up a few notches against undefeated Michigan. No longer is there an OR at quarterback, as Hank Brown is listed as the starting quarterback. While many of the starters either rested completely or saw limited action last Saturday, Karmari Moulton and DJ Vonnahme are still absent from the depth chart. We will see how that evolves when Kirk Speaks later this week.
At running back, Nathan McNeil and Xavier Williams are your starters and backup, respectively. At tight end, Addison Ostrenga is now the starter, with Zach Ortwerth and Thomas Meyer backing him up.
At right tackle, Bryce Hawthorne is listed as the starter, even though he left Saturday’s game with a knee injury after an illegal chop block.
Tyler Brown, strong safety, is interestingly missing from the depth chart again this week, even though he started on Saturday. As has been the case in prior weeks, Anthony Hawkins is named as the starter.
Also absent from the lineup is Brevin Doll, who had been handling kickoff returns until he was held out last week with an undisclosed injury. Instead, Braeden Jackson is the starter. Jackson had a 24-yard touchdown reception and an electrifying 62-yard rush for a touchdown last Saturday. For punt returns, Reece Vander Zee and Evan James are listed as the specialists.
