I’m sure I’m not alone when I say I’m eagerly counting down the days until Rep. Nancy Mace leaves office (107, btw!)—but it seems the congresswoman really won’t let the time go by without disrupting the (my) peace.
Because, apart from calling for the execution of Lindsey Clancy and blowing up at Mehdi Hasan for resurfacing her booze abuse allegations this week, Mace was asked on Thursday about her dating life by TMZ’s Charlie Cotton and, in true Mace style, dropped a spate of… odd comments.
“Would you ever date a Democrat?” Cotton asked, initiating the conversation.
“Yes,” Mace replied, “Although I just turned one down. I had a lot of suitors when the tattoo story came out, including some Democrats. But I turned all of them down.”
The tattoo story, of course, being when Mace revealed a month ago that she’s got various tattoos splashed on her arms, among them a quote pulled from a sapphic book by Virginia Woolf. (Same lawmaker who has repeatedly attacked the LGBTQ+ community, BTW.)
“I turn everybody down,” Mace continued. “I just, I don’t know. I don’t know that I’ll ever date again.”

Mace added that she turns down every man in her DMs, to which Cotton replied: “Do guys send you, like, explicit imagery and stuff?”
“Sometimes, and that’s nasty,” she said. “Don’t do that. Don’t send me dick pics. Don’t, definitely don’t, don’t send me any dick pics.” (She later posted a picture of Gov. Gavin Newsom (D-Calif.), writing “Someone just sent me this d*ck pic. I said stop.” Ha.)
Responding to a question from Cotton on whether she could be putting guys off with her “outlandish” comments—the understatement of the century—Mace added, “I think I just speak the truth and speak common sense. I don’t think anything I say is outlandish. I do think that men are intimidated by strong [women].” OK!
But really, prompting the biggest cock of the head from me was Mace’s response on “ton[ing] down” her rhetoric—again, an insane way to word her outlandish attacks on immigrants, people of color, and the LGBTQ+ community.
“I’m having too much fun,” she said, referencing her comments about sentencing Clancy to die, and arguing with Clancy’s defense attorney reminding her that—among other things—Massachusetts hasn’t carried out a death penalty in more than 40 years. (Again: Weird use of the word “fun!!??”) “I enjoy that. I don’t want to give that up. I do enjoy that because there are so many dumbasses in the world.” Funny, that. Right now, I just see one…
