Two weeks down and two wins in the books. The week 2 win over Eastern Michigan was certainly a much more comfortable victory for MSU. As such, we saw a number of Spartans make their case for player of the game, both on offense and on defense. Unlike game 1, the special teams was not so special against EMU.
For this game, we had five players listed in the survey – QB Alessio Milivojevic, RB Cam Edwards, WR Charles Taplin, DT Eli Coenen, and CB Charles Brantley. Like in week 1, this week’s winner racked up over half the vote, finishing with a whopping 74%. Congratulations to Cam Edwards on earning the week 2 award.
Edwards would finish his day with 152 rushing yards on 21 carries (7.2 avg.) along with 2 TDs, and he tacked on a 5-yard reception as well. An offensive performance like that is going to earn the POW award more often than not.
