Ole Miss moved up to eighth in the country in the latest Associated Press top 25 released this afternoon.
The Rebels are off to a 2-0 start after thrashing Charlotte in its home opener on Saturday. Ole Miss has been featured in the top 25 since the 2023 season and finished last season at No. 3 nationally.
Looking ahead, the Rebels will play No. 1 Texas, No. 2 Georgia, No. 7 LSU, No. 20 Mizzou and No. 24 Oklahoma. It has already defeated No. 23 Louisville in week one.
Texas took over the top spot after a comeback win over Ohio State. The Buckeyes dropped to sixth, which honestly is a little surprising and not surprising at the same time.
The top 10 showdown this week in Oxford between Ole Miss and LSU of course looms as a massive statement win for either team and would cement playoff contender status in the first quarter of this season. Ole Miss currently has the third longest active home winning streak in the nation at 13 straight wins in Vaught Hemingway Stadium.
