Off to its best start in more than a decade and with its highest-ranked win since 2018, No. 2 Maryland men’s soccer remains at the forefront of the national conversation.
That recognition has led two Terps to earn Big Ten honors: Albi Ndrenika was named the Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week and Rodrigo Neri received his consecutive Big Ten Freshman of the Week honor.
Ndrenika, one of Maryland’s three captains, smashed an incredible one-touch goal to start the Terps’ scoring Monday. That goal, his second of the season, landed on Sportcenter’s Top 10 plays.
Neri has been a revelation for Maryland, starting all five games during his freshman campaign. He added to his goal-scoring tally during the Terps’ 3-2 win over then-No. 5 Georgetown and is currently tied with fellow freshman Said El Eyssami for the team lead with three goals.
With a pair of top-10 victories, Maryland will look to keep its unbeaten season alive Friday — the Terps finished last year’s regular season without a loss.
