Wide receiver Deuce Alexander and kicker Lucas Carneiro were both named co-winners of SEC weekly awards after stunning performances in a win over Louisville.
Alexander was named co-offensive player of the week in the conference after nabbing five catches for 159 yards and two touchdowns. His two touchdowns were both from 62 yards out and were the second longest of his career after an 88-yard touchdown last season. The 159 yards marked a career high for the Georgia native.
Carneiro was selected co-special teams player of the week with his dramatic game winning field goal in the 41-38 win over Louisville. The stat that keeps boggling minds across the nation is that the young man out of North Carolina has three game winning field goals of 45 yards or longer, which is the most of any placekicker nationwide in the last THIRTY YEARS. He also went perfect in PAT’s (5/5) and scored 11 total points to move himself up to 14th all time in scoring at Ole Miss.
The Rebels next game is on Saturday at 6:45 p.m. versus Charlotte. It will be broadcast live on ESPN2.
