Team USA survived what would’ve been a massive upset in its 55-52 win over Italy on Sunday.
Italy had a chance to tie the game at 55 with 20 seconds remaining, but their last-second 3-pointer hit the backboard and fell into Breanna Stewart’s hands as time expired.
After scoring five points off the bench in Team USA’s 94-61 win over China, Kiki Iriafen didn’t play on Sunday. She was the lone Team USA member to receive a DNP.
Sonia Citron didn’t score in five minutes of playing time.
Team USA has now won 36 straight games dating back to 2006. It approved to 2-0 in Group D of the 2026 FIBA Women’s World Cup.
