Comment on Colorado Catholic preschools seek Supreme Court review on LGBTQ admission case by Sharon Hoidahl
And Jesus still weeps…. Saddened that those whom he called to love one another continue to put up the barriers of defining those unlike themselves as” other”. Each of us is called to reflect in our own generations as to the call for inclusion, community, and love. Sexuality is on a continuum rather than an “ either or” choice of how we each define ourselves in loving relationships. Religious institutions are called to reflect on traditions and rules that no longer support loving one another. Why define inclusion in a preschool program to be defined by sexuality of either the parent or the child? To do so limits the possibility of the rich diversity and contributions of children and their families. My heart breaks when those who believe theyhave the power to tell others how they should worship, whom they should love, and how they should define the loving presence of their creator do such immense harm in the name of God. Jesus continues to weep…
