
A popular donut shop in San Jose closed earlier this week due to an “active cockroach infestation,” according to the Santa Clara County Department of Environmental Health.
The county’s Department of Environmental Health reported that Christy’s Donuts, located at 1150 N Capitol Av. in San Jose, was closed on March 30 after an inspector found the following:
- One live cockroach on the floor in the front service area, in front of a large cabinet.
- One live cockroach on the floor in the rear kitchen area, near the center prep counter.
- Two dead cockroaches under the three-compartment sink.
- One dead cockroach on the floor between cupboards in the front service area
- One dead cockroach on the floor in the front service area, near the beverage refrigerator.
According to authorities, the shop will have to go through a follow-up inspection to be reopened.
