
A man was fatally stabbed in Long Beach early Wednesday, prompting a police investigation and disrupting service on Metro’s A Line.
Officers responded to Pacific Avenue and 5th Street around 5 a.m. to reports of a stabbing.
Police found a man with stab wounds to his upper body and firefighters transported him to a local hospital.
“Long Beach Fire Department personnel responded and transported the victim to a local hospital,” according to a Long Beach Police Department public information officer, Andrea Moran. “The motive for the incident is unknown. The investigation is ongoing.”
Reports from the scene showed a light rail train stopped at the location, and Metro said bus shuttles are operating between the Pacific and Anaheim stations.
It was not clear what the motive for the stabbing was. The investigation is ongoing.
