Sweden defeated Poland, 3-2, in their World Cup qualifying match to secure their spot in this summer’s competition in North America.
Earlier this month, the North Texas FIFA World Cup Organizing Committee announced that FC Dallas’ Toyota Stadium and Mansfield Stadium, under construction, would be team base camp training sites. Base camps are the primary training and operational headquarters for teams in the tournament.
The winner of Czechia versus Denmark is headed to Mansfield. The Boomerjack’s in Mansfield off US Hwy 287 hosted a watch party to see who they would be welcoming to town.
Base camps are expected to attract fans of those national teams as well.
FIFA will confirm final team assignments following the completion of the official qualification process.
The World Cup begins June 11.
